We began our first unit in math this week. We have been learning all about what it means to sort and classify! We learned that we can sort by different attributes (color, shape, size, texture, etc)! We even played an attribute game where the kids had to pick out the similarities or differences between certain objects. They have been having a blast exploring all of the different math centers we have this week. In the photos above they are sorting and matching numerals and number words with our bean planting station! This was a big hit! |

It was incredibly hot on the playground today so some of the boys decided it was a good idea to cool off while taking silly photos!
![]() WOW! We have had a busy but FUN two days in Kindergarten. The kids have been working hard learning all the routines of the typical Kindergarten day. They've gone to PE, Science, & Spanish. They had a blast learning all about the squads in PE & explored the Science lab with a fun scavenger hunt! We even learned all about Thank You Sticks which was a favorite of all of the students. The children also got to learn all about what it means to live their lives as a reader in Reader's Workshop. Their eyes lit up when I told them they would be able to take home a book every night for homework in only a few short weeks. We can't wait to explore more of Kindergarten this year! Stay tuned for lots more pictures. |
